Low Res Single Object, How?

Question:

I have a character with about 10 Sub-Tools. High Resolutions. I’m ready to collapse it into a single low res mesh. I can’t remember the tool and process that is best for doing this. In the end the character will go into a game and needs to be a single low poly object.

Thanks!

Transpose Master lets you auto merge all subtools at their lowest subdivision for posing and other needs, then transfer the changes back to the high-res subtools. Though, that no way guarantees all your subtools have a lowest sub-division suitable for a game engine, or that everything is consistent.

Thanks for the reply! Will try this!

For game work, this is generally the point where you’d retopo. If you duplicate your tool, collapse all the subtools, then use Dynamesh to fuse them into a single unbroken object, you may be able to get results with Zremesher that are adequate for your needs. Typically though, for the highly optimized poly budgets of game work, you’re going to want to manually retopo in zbrush or elsewhere.

Once you have your new fused low poly mesh, you can use your original tool to project any lost detail for the purpose of generating normal maps.
