Awesome teach!

I’d be glad to be learning that! Great sculpt! :+1:small_orange_diamond:+1:small_orange_diamond:+1:

Thanks very much for the compliments. It was a fun project and I think we’re going to be doing something Lovecraftian next semester (I haven’t fully decided yet). Here’s a viewport render from 3DS Max of how the model turned out textured.

I like it.It looks like a miniature painted model. With your next model you could try making the surfaces a bit smoother. I can see some noise and lumpiness on some parts of the model ( standard brush ? ). The polypaint does hide some of the noise. you are definitely on the way to some kickass work soon. Wanna see some more fantasy creatures. Good luck!

Thanks much! I think the lumpiness is more a result of the rendering in Max. I wanted to do a Mental Ray render but I don’t know the settings enough to put the right textures in the right places blah blah. But, as a class model, it didn’t turn out too badly. I’ve got some Lovecraftian creatures in store as well as a Gears of War Mauler I’ve finished modelling. Hopefully, by then, I can do better on the lighting/rendering aspects.

I like it! Turned out quite well. I’m curious as to why you changed the base design from the original? Thanks for sharing.

Thanks, Mulllins! Actually, it’s the same base, I just rescaled it in 3DS Max as I thought that the base might be distracting from the character itself. I’ve put it back in as it was…maybe it does look better not so scaled down.

This is the Gears of War Mauler head I’ve started.

Niiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiice

Here’s the entire Mauler. Just started work on the helmet, haven’t touched the body yet.

Just finished some polypainting on a Frankenstein’s monster bust I’d done in Zbrush. Thought I’d add it to my page. (Trying to do so many things at once…where does one find the time?!)

I really like the Mauler head, but why is he wearing COG armor? :3

According to the concept art and action figure, he’s not.

I’m thinking about getting a 3D print of my Frankenstein’s monster bust and did a quick relight of the Zbrush model in 3DS Max to check to see if it’s atmospheric enough.

This is an ‘elseworld’ rhino creature. It was for development for a game that didn’t actually get the greenlight but it was a fun model to create. And yes, that is a human-sized character sitting on its back (the ‘rhino’ was supposed to be huge).

Nice sculpts, rhino is my favorite. :+1:

Thanks very much. Zbrush is a boon to what I want to do with 3D, that’s for sure. Here’re another couple of shots of the rhino.

:Dthe rhino is cool
good work

Something else I’m working on…
