Looking for the chapter 3-2 Zcript tutorial from Practical Manual

Dear Everyone:

Page 118 of the ZBrush 2 practical manual informs me that I can find a ZScript version of the Chapter 3-2 tutorial in the Help Topics\Supplemental Reading\Bamboo section of the help files. Slight problem, though…

I cannot find any “Supplemental Reading” section of the Help Topics in Zbrush 2, and I can find nothing alluding to “Bamboo” in the completre ZScripts list.

Can anyone please tell me where I can find this tutorial in ZBrush 2, or where I can download it?

Sincerely,

Michael B. English

Nope. Doesn’t seem to exist. What were you hoping to find out from the script … maybe we can help you? That part of the tut is reasonably straight forward (I appreciate it all looks wonderful and weird to a new user, but it will soon make sense … promise!).

Look in your zscripts folder… then tutorials… then find bamboo folder… all is there.

wenna

Dear Wenna:

There are exactly two files in my Zcripts folder. (1) defaultzcript.txt and (2) defaultzscript.zsc. There is no “tutorials” subfolder, there is no
“Bamboo” subfolder. It is most emphatically NOT all there. However, there IS an extensive list of ZScripts in the Help window of the ZBrush 2 program, and I can access them and run them, so they must be coming from somewhere…

Moochie, I have done the tutorial and understand virtually all of the suibject matter. I care more about the fact that I was directed by the manual to look somewhere to find something and that I failed to find it than I do about the information the tutorial was intended to convey.

At this point, I would greatly appreciate a definitive answer to the following question:

Am I failing to find the Bamboo ZScript because:

  1. My downloaded ZBrush 2 program did not contain the proper files?;
  2. The ZBrush 2 manual was not properly edited when it was upgraded from ZBrush 1.5?; or
  3. I have simply failed to look in the right place?

I would greatly appreciate whatever answer you two can give.

Sincerely,

Michael B. English

No sir, wenna! No such thing in my collection of ZScripts. I’ve probably missed d/l something. Be a sport … gis a clue

hmmm, you may be right. I think when I downloaded Z2, I did the upgrade version. I saved all my folders from 1.55 and just added them back in to the zcripts, if there is a particular one (like bamboo tut) I can upload them on my site for you. I’ve enclosed a peak at my zcripts/tutorial files…

PS- Some maybe from 1.23… I keep everything… lol

Ooo well spotted! It is, indeed, there in my 155b folder too. The zipped folder is a bit over the 200k upload limit here … could you be a splendid chap and put it on your site for new friend Bartron, please? Cheers.

ok, made a quick download folder located on my site, hopefully this works. Btw, did you want the whole folder or just the bamboo one…

Forgot to add that if there is a .txt and a .zsc file, you should play the .txt and delete the .zsc file as it points to my links and probably won’t work in your directory setup. Hope it helps…

You’re a gent. Thank you. Keep an eye on your bandwidth in case you get a few hits.

Actually, I made a bit of an assumption there, didn’t I. Thanks, whichever side of the chromosomal pool you swim in.

lol moochie! I swim on the female side, but it doesn’t matter to me, I am glad I can be of help.

Dear Wenna:

I thank you for the assistance. These should do the trick.

Sincerely,

Michael B. English
