I am looking at a Dell Studio XPS 16 laptop, both are pretty similar, 4 gigs of ram, RGB LED display, the difference one has
the Intel® Core™2 Duo T9550(2.66GHz/1066MHz FSB/6M L2Cache) with the regular DVD drive
or
Intel® Core™ 2 Duo P8600 (3MB cache/2.4GHz/1066Mhz with the Bluray Drive
Will be mostly using it for 3ds max, photoshop, after effects etc
Would the better processor (T9550) be noticeable? or go for the P8600 and the bluray?
you should buy the P8600 Intel Laptop because you are ready to tune the laptop with the N45 Northbridge with a quad CPU like Q9100 or Q9000/Q9300. With the old Northbridge 65 you have the maximum in the Laptop and do not have any chance to tune.
The best is a Toshiba or Acer ! with modular Graphiccard and option to chance. You need a good Graphicengine and good CPU. On the most Laptops you have no chance to change the GPU !!!
Show on Acer or Toshiba/ asus. The most model on this brands have the optional MCX / MXX GPU Kit an look to a 45nm Northbridge for the futur !
