Is it possible to transform a stencil into a 3d?
I’ve tried to convert an imported psd
and the result is not satisfatory.
or I’ve to import it from Maya?
You can make any alpha a 3d object using the make3d button in the alpha menu.
Depending on your alpha, you might have to play with some settings for it to turn out how you would like.
I found that converting stencils is usually not leading to ‘highres’ results. This is founded in the usualy ‘low’ resolution of the alpha’s themself. There is no substitute for a .obj or .dxf if you need ‘crips’ results. In any case, setting the mesh resolution higher and lowering smoothing leads to ‘sharper’ results. But a Logo which should not be altered in any way is difficult to import as alpha or stencil.
However, you might find this discussion valuable in that context.

I generally also get better results by keeping the thickness setting down for the generated 3D object. Another thing you could try would be to go thicker, but then to also use the Flatten deformation to thin the 3D object. This can give some really cool results with a flat face but rounded sides – something that’s not typically seen with extruded objects.
And the additional effects using the Morph Target option on top can blow your mind. No way I could do all that with a ‘traditional’ modeling progie.
