Locking Viewport Rotation

I am working on a model that involves alot of pushing and pulling of points. the problem is everytime I go near the edge of the mesh the viewport rotates ( I am using 3dsmax terms here - basically I spin around the model) This is driving me mad. Is there anyway I can lock the viewport so that I can work on my mesh without spinning around it ?

Thanks as always for your help.

There isn’t a way to prevent rotation. You can snap back to the closest 90 degree plane by holding down the Shift key while you rotate. You can also use the Transform>Modifiers to restrict sculpting along specific axes. For example, if you want to simulate working from the side you would turn off the Xyz switch, then turn on Y and Z. That will prevent any points from being moved in the X direction, even though you can still freely rotate the model.

Remember that the directions that ZBrush uses are as shown in the Tool>Preview window, with Z facing toward the preview’s camera.

Thanks for the reply but unfortunately is doesn’t help my current problem I think what is happening is I am adjusting verts on a very low res model, so I keep on missing them ( highlighted in red ). When I have subdivided a bit more the problem goes away as there are plent of points to grab onto. I will have to just get used making sure I have a vert selected before I move the mouse - as nobody else seems to have this problem I am sure it due to my inexperience with Zbrush.

Thanks again for your speedy reply.

Just make sure your little red dot is snapped to a vertex before you start moving it.
