Local BPR filter and reflections.

Hello Everyone!

Not sure where to add this query or whether it has been raised before? I have 2 questions on BPR rendering which I am a little unsure about…

QUESTION 1: CAN YOU VIEW A BPR FILTER ON A CERTAIN PART OF A RENDER?

When hitting the ‘best’ render mode I can view a nice glow using the “colourized glow” matcap which doesn’t work with BPR, but with the BPR rendering the post glow effect within the BPR filters looks really nice and I was trying to add this glow effect to a certain part of the scene, maybe by assigning this filter to a polygroup/masked area? So that it will show up on a section of a model. The link below has information on this, however I’m not too sure how you actually apply this to a local area?

http://docs.pixologic.com/user-guide/materials-lights-rendering/rendering/bpr/bpr-filters/

…“Second, the BPR filters can use internally computed information like depth or masking. This means you can apply the effects to a local area rather than to the entire image. This local application of the filters is also what sets BPR filters apart from the other render filters from previous versions of ZBrush.”

QUESTION 2: LOCAL REFLECTIONS WITH BPR RENDERING?

Is there any way to view reflections of other subtools within my scene using BPR rendering? When using ‘best’ render mode I can reflect other objects in my scene using the environment tab, but is this also possible using BPR rendering?

I understand that other software such as Keyshot/Vray etc is the best way to render out lovely reflections etc in this way but the style and appearance of BPR is perfect for my needs and I was wondering whether this was actually possible without combining the ‘best’ rendered reflection output in post.

Thanks!
