Little Devil

Hi,

This work in progress of the cute little devil is based on a sculpture from Mark Newman. I always loved his works and this a kind of a tribute to him :) I will try to stick to the concept but maybe change some tiny things to my personal taste. To create the basemesh, I started with a zsphere model which was used as a template and drawed the topology lines over it. I will post some pictures of the progress later. Atwooki - The next thing I want to do is to retopo the parts which needs more polygons (face,ears, the base of the sculpture). After that I will turn symmetry off and start to refine and make asymmetrical changes. Thanks :slight_smile:

Here is the new base mesh,done with the topology tools. With a better edge flow,which describes the forms better, I can push the polycount to a much higher level. It´s also more usefull for uvmapping and rendering later.

Tomorrow I will start to refine the forms and add more detail.

As you’re intending UV Mapping him, are you going to fully texture him also?

Atwooki: I´m still not sure if I want to color him, but maybe use a normal map for porelike details, so I don´t have to render millions of polys in max.

So, here is a first small testrender from vray in 3dsmax.
The model is still in progress.I want to change the pose a little bit as it looks too stiff at the moment. Also I want to add much more small details.

Love the model and the rendering!
You should make some larger images, but I guess it takes a lot if you are using the path tracer.
