Lightwave and ZBrush

Hello There Everyone:

Is there a way that Lightwave, and ZBrush works together. If so what way? Should I make the model in Lightwave bring it into ZBrush?
or
Make it in ZBrush, then bring it back into Lightwave?
if so, what do I save it as? What formats work with Lightwave, and ZBrush. (If Any)

Does Z-Brush, have anything like Bones, and Keyframes?

You can tell I’m very, very new to ZBrush, I’m open to suggestions about where I should start with learning about Z-Brush. To make the learning curve as painless as possible.

hi! here i just share my experience of how i learn zbrush:

  1. go to official site of zbrush and download the practical guide of zbrush. go through patiently. then you will have a fairly good idea what is going on. make sure you do this first. and try to finish all of them, or at least half. trust me it’s worthy.

  2. zbrush have a zscript tutorial in its help button on top right corner. that is one of the best tutorial i ever seen till now. so go through all of them. then you will have fairly good idea what is going on.

  3. start praacticing. this is very important too. knowing how to draw doesn’'t mean we can draw well. same as sculpt, and art,… so pratise will make perfect.

  4. come to this forum frequently:D this is also very important. be part of the community to get help and to help. and as always, teaching is the best way to learn…

and finally to answer your lightwave-zbrush problem, go to this link:

http://www.stevewarner.com/Tutorials/zBrush/zBrushTut.html

this nice person put his lw-zb-lw process step by step to share his knowledge with all the lwer and zber.

but, i m not so sure about the animation though. i kind of read some where that the zb export object with displacement map not everytime work well with the bone deformation. so…

hope this help:) happy zbing…

If you go to the FAQ here at ZBC, you’ll see a section for ZBrush and Other Applications. One of the subtopics is all about LightWave. The Steve Warner tutorial is linked to there, along with other helpful info.

Well it seems that I have to re-learn a very basic lesson of forum usage. Thats to read the FAQ, and other basics, before I post already answered questions.

Thank you for the polite answers, and I apologize for being redundant.

Thanks again
