Lighting And Foliage Exercise.

I have been playing with lighting in ZBrush over the weekend and doodled myself to this image. The idea was to have the light filtering through the trees and creating shadows on the branches. It turned out quite interesting so I thought I would share it with the group. Thanks for viewing, it is appreciated.

I guess you succeded on your purpose, looks beautifull. The fog is clever too. Makes the sea and sky blend into each other and extends the depth. Great sky by the way!

As every landscape you made…is a great pleasure to see everytime your artistic approach.¡¡
Sincerely I congratulate you and i happy to have the oportunity to learn from you.
Thanks very much

Very nice image, the foliage, is set off very well by your use of values and contrast.
Were the trees done using Zspheres?

Cool Joe! Looks great… I have been away from the forum for ages (too busy with work). And just logged in today to see what’s new and I knew this was your work even before I checked it out… Glad to see you are still experimenting and creating your wonderful landscapes…

Thanks for your comments, they are appreciated.
Bluesman: the trees were created using the method described by me in the QuickLinks.
Manitu: the water method first started by Zoid and modified by me are also in the QuickLinks…Both methods have been simplified so you should have no problem following them. If you need anything explained I would be happy to help.
