Lightbox assets will not load under different user accounts

On my laptop computer lightbox will only load it assets under one user account. As well, at the school where I teach all of the other computers in the lab are having the same problem. I am attempting to fix this on my computer first in hopes that the same solution will work for the other computers as well because there are two classes that will need to use this software.

I read online that you should change the permissions to read and write while using an administrator log-in. I have tried that on my machine and the ones at school, and it has not worked. Each time the permission are set, the assets will only load for the first user that starts Zbrush. Any other users will not have access to it.

I’ve attached images of the permissions panel, and a screenshot under two different user accounts. One of them loads the assets and the other will not. Also the specs for my laptop are below.

Mac OS X
Version 10.6.8
Memory: 8GB
Processor: 2.53 GHz Intel Core i5

This is caused by permissions, so you’re on the right track.

When you set Everyone to Read & Write, did you also click the gear underneath and Apply to Enclosed Items? If not, then the permission change only applied to the folder but not to the various files inside it.

Try changing from Read & Write to something else, applying to enclosed items, back to Read & Write and then applying to enclosed again. Let me know if that resolves the issue.

Do this with your personal computer first. It may or may not work depending on how the school’s network is configured. It does work for most networks, but there are exceptions.

Thanks for the quick reply. Actually, I had forgot to mention that. I did click apply to enclosed folders selection for each of them. That would allow me to use lightbox on the other user account but then it would take it away from the first. It appears that whichever account opens Zbrush first after the permissions change will open it fine, but it won’t open in the others.

Thanks for that. Your info has given us a direction to work from. I’m bringing this to the attention of the development team and will let you know if there’s a fix you can do (or try).

We may have a solution for you.

Could you please email me at [email protected]? I’ll send you a file for testing. If it works to resolve your problems at home and school we will then make it available to anyone affected by this issue.

Thanks!

I am have the same problem at our school and was wondering if this issue has been resolved.

I just saw your reply for this and sent you an email. Sorry for the delay. I was thinking that I would get a automatic notification by email so I missed this.
