Hello Zbrush Wizards, I frequently come to this place to see the guru works, there are many people who are so damn good at zbrush, and I want to ask you, how do you get this good, and how long did it take (hours, months, years,…). I know this cannot be learned overnight, its hard work, no doubt. I know how you have to learn something about anatomy, facial features and these things first. There are plenty of resources about anatomy available, and I think I have collected enough materials. But zbrush-wise, what is the most efficient way of learning (my time is limited, I have a few hours a week)? I assume watching good video tutorials and lots of exercise, but I am a bit lost, there are many video tutorial vendors and they have high cost, buying them all I cannot afford. If someone could recommend some real good training/making-of materials with regard of sculpting humans, that would be awesome. Also a comment or hint towards if you need to do this pro to get real good. Lots of the real good things here are pro work, but going pro is not an option, I have a totally non-gfx job to feed me. I assume many hobby sculpters are reading here, maybe you could post some hints of your journey-to-zbrush, how many hours a week you put into this hobby, what would you suggest to learn in which order, and so on Thank you lots!!!
i am just a starter too.
it all depends on what your goal is and what your (traditional) skills are, artisticaly speaking,
and more technicaly speaking, what you allready know about cg and 3d.
for example if you allready know much about, anatomy, sculpting with real clay, drawing, etc…
then you only need to learn implementing this knowledge in zbrush.
but zbrush is such a versatile tool, you can of course do other, more abstract stuff, or non organic things, with it.
for me, i think it never stops,
so much to learn and this community is of course great help.
and to begin with zbrush, the videos in zclassroom are great too.
