LazyMouse keeps turning on

I’m having a strange LazyMouse issue. Basically, whenever I start ZBrush and begin sculpting with the standard brush, LazyMouse is turned on and is configured in a way that gives really poor results (a bunch of shallow dots). What’s weird is that when I do Brush -> Reset All Brushes (or Preferences -> Init ZBrush, then reload standard brush), LazyMouse is turned off, which implies that it should be off by default, right? Yet, every time I restart ZBrush, it’s turned on again. Any ideas?

Also regarding LazyMouse, I’m wondering: Is there any point using it with a Wacom tablet?

Zbrush now comes with Lazy mouse on, easy solution hit the l key turns it off, and Yes Lazy mouse rocks with the Tablet actually I am enjoying on since load time since it leaves such a small trail really improves your hand and steadyness

Do you find that, with the default settings, it tends to stutter (especially with larger draw sizes)? For me, it’s set to a step size of 0.2 by default (with radius and smooth both set to 0), which results in dotted/stuttering strokes. Only when I take the step size down to 0.01 does it give smooth results.

Also, just out of curiosity, why does “Preferences -> Init ZBrush” turn LazyMouse off for the standard brush? I was under the impression that Init ZBrush was supposed to reset everything to the default startup settings.

No relation to pixologic on this but it was something problably overlooked anyways try setting it to off and saving your ui see if that works. Aside from that inital settings for lazy mouse are not causing troubles on this end its a super small tail and I think its meant to be speedy somewhat accurate. but no dotting.
Or better yet go grab the settings off 3.5 if you still have that around.

Ok, thanks

meh, having the same prob with lazy mouse. I dont like the stuttering (and for what I primarily do, I need it to be off) Ive tried saving a new UI, new documents, and everything, but it always turns back on by default.

Is there any way to disable it on startup?

Is there any way to disable it on startup?

Add the following line to your DefaultZScript.txt file in the ZScripts folder and it will automatically turn off Lazy Mouse at startup.

[If,1,[IUnPress,Stroke:LazyMouse]]

Awesome! I will try that. Thanks so much for the help! :stuck_out_tongue:
