hello! the french title is “lansquenet”, and i think that it’s the same in english… they were german soldiers in 16, 17 century, very terrific, and with a lot of colored, ribbon, etc… in their clothe… a funny mix… full zbrush, except a part of the gloves; z render, witrh a lot of trays!!! friendly.M.
awesome marcel, and truly inspirational as ever.
may i ask how long something like this takes to render?
Beautiful work as usual Marcel…
You have a wonderful way of combining imagination, and the traditional skills of the artist, into a whole new vision of your own…And it is the Art in your work that has amazed me since you started here…
Thank you for enriching the experience here…
incredible marcel, i’m big fan of your’s
It’s “Landsknecht” , and they served as a sort of canon-fudder. Most of them were rude folks, very much down to earth. They mostly did wear the colors of their lords big an small, yet not as shiny as some sellswords or knights.
I think you captured that with your pic
!
Masterful! Seeing your ZBrush work was one of the things that persuaded me to buy this brilliant program. Thankyou.
You have pulled the rug from under me Marcel, as I have it on my list to model a lansknecht (in English we use this word), but I’m glad you did as it is a fine picture
The landsknechts were more or less mercenaries and some of their clothing became so outlandish and rude (the pluderhose) that it was outlawed by the clergy.
Here’s a site about the landsknechts and their clothes. Osprey books also have have a book on them if you are interested in military history.
Hi marcel!
A very excellent pic, your fine modeling, as well as control over textures & paint are truely inspiring. Love it!.
As a favor for the poor slobs, why not try posting something a little less creative, colorful, stupendous, etc.
It would make us work harder, if we thought we could imitate it.
At least tell me it took a couple of days of herculean effort.
Give me something to hold on to.
Great Landsknecht concept, Marcel.
Good info on the Landsknecht, guys. I was going to say the same.
Magnifique comme a l’accoutumé Marcel
Ton image semble differente de ton style habituel, elle semble pluss en 3d, as tu changé quelque chose dans ta technique de travail?
Hou qu’il est pas beau !
Hou qu’il fait peur!
Ah marcel, tu l’a soigné
Pilou
What a horrific guy!
What a frenzy guy!
Ah marcel you have not miss him
Ps Coll site Bone!
very cool image and thread, M. Marcel
it’s like a lansquenet who has just returned from a paint-ball match
it almost seems like he is looking forward to some sausage, apples and sauerkraut
rtyer: divide and conquer – analyze and assemble (using the skills available at the moment) – one thing at a time – let the flyers fly – but I have seen your wit enough to imagine that your post was mostly a compliment
havran:
Not mostly, completely.
ok – recalibrating – one moment, please
hey, you have more orange dots than me, darnit!
Hi Marcel;
I almost missed this one. Great modeling and
wonderful texturing.
Successful as usual!
Thanks for posting!
