Kosta painting technique on the Mac?

I have unsuccessfully tried to get Kosta’s painting technique to work on the Mac. ( the one where you go into Projection master, draw a Plane3D onto your model with an alpha and texture selected, Z Intensity at zero and Mrgb at whatever) Works fine on my PC. Is this ‘broken’ on the Mac or is it just me?
Without Zapplink for Mac either I am running out of painting options.

Are you remembering to assign the texture to the plane correctly? It’s different in 3.12. You have to use the thumbnail in the Tool>Texture Map menu to assign a texture to your SubTool. Simply selecting it in the Texture palette will not do the job because the Mac version supports separate textures for each SubTool rather than one texture for the whole model.

As for making the Alpha have an effect, leave Zadd turned on, but set Z Intensity to 0.
