Keep KeyShot materials after restarting ZB & KS and using Bridge?

Helloz

Working on first complex render attempt in KeyShot 6 Bridge (6.2.105).

When sending from ZBrush, the scene was updating in KeyShot without changing materials assigned in KeyShot. (sent with Flat Material and Polypaint)

So I could edit the model, add subtools, etc, but keep the KeyShot materials.

During this, I could restart KeyShot, reopen the Scene, and it still updated like that. Figured that’s just how it works…

However, I saved the ZBrush project, closed and reopened ZBrush, and now it loses the KeyShot materials.

Just trying to understand the workflow. Is that how it’s supposed to work? (restart ZBrush = loss of KeyShot materials in saved KeyShot scene?)

Any way to prevent loss of KeyShot materials? (I assume matching subtool names is why it kept materials previously…?)

Thanks for any help understanding!

Well thankfully I had gotten it far enough along to do the final render.

I was just adding light objects when I lost materials. That was easy to do without the bridge.

Once I do some extra passes, I’ll do some tests and post the results here, in case anyone finds this in a search.
