Kcin Sketchbook

Hello, my name is Nicholas Pettit. This is my first post here on ZBC but i am frequent to these forums lol. I thought i would get some feedback from some pros about my latest Entry into EvolveCG’s Hunter Challenge. My character is my rendition of what i feel Nosferatu’s creature form would look like. Nothing more scarey then getting hunted by a creepy looking creature that wants to suck out all your blood right? This character went through many different stages of changes due to good crits from everyone competing in the Hunter Challenge. I had a great time and i hope you like it.

Hunter Challenge Forums - lots of great art.

the only thing that is bothering me is that the face looks a little stretched. (looks like you went to the highest sub division level and used the move tool on the face)

also the eyes look very droopy and unnatural. everything else looks pretty cool but yeah man just looks like you didnt spend enough time on the face…

Not bad. Kudos for originality. I feel like there are a number of parts slapped on simply because you thought it looked cool, vs doing it because it made sense anatomically in how the creatures functions in its environment. The gimpy hands connecting to the hips, that tubular thing you have where a trapezius should be, that weird y-shaped connection piece between the gimpy arms and the legs. Just to name a few. I also feel your textures need to be toned back quite a bit. They feel pretty blown out.

It’s a nice piece, keep it up.

wow, totally neglected this thread. thanks for the comments guys sorry i didnt respond got super busy.

Well my other sketchbook got deleted, not sure why. I guess i will make this thread into my sketchbook. I dont think i broke and rules i read through the TOS. If possible could a moderator rename this thread to Kcin Sketchbook? I dont seem to have the edit ability to change the name. If there are any issues please let me know. All credit goes to the original artist for the concept of the bug. It comes from a Wolfienstien game. I hope you all like my interpretation of it. More updates next week =)

thanks - Nick

Hey everyone,

Just finished my final reel at my college. Digital Media Arts College, thought i would post it here and get some feed back. thanks for all the great threads and tutorials here at zbrush central. Really helped me push my work further, now its time to buckle down and learn more. All crits are welcome

That’s a nicely lit render. Really good anatomy. Although the males anatomy
is a little confusing, because he is mostly toned but in his armpits stomach
and pecks look a little like a 50 year old man. His age overall looks like 32?
So its a little mismatched. Its just the way the skin has those dimples in it
that look like sagging fat.

Ah thanks SadamHu, the guy is actually Jeff Bridges. He is a work in progress but i am trying to make him slightly musculer to put in his Tron Suit while still at the same time making him look older. Should have some updates soon im going to make him bigger and lose alot of the muscle mass.

Hey great works you have here, congratulations, :+1:

Really love the Bug model,

Keep it comming

Cheers

Nice stuff! Ironically I am watching a documentary on Beethoven and they just finished discussing when he wrote that song. Had to do a double take at my two screens.

lol ya i was worried that the song might feel a little clich’e. But it just fit too well not to use it. Cant go wrong with classical music.

This is a head i am working on. Its Jeff Bridges, really excited for the new Tron movie comming out so I thought i would start a small project and pose him beside the new tron bike. lots to do so i will update from time to time.

How did I miss this thread? Your creatures are fabulous! I don’t know about Jeff looking like Jeff, but he does look like my step-dad. :+1: :+1:

there seems to be an unfortunate placement of the female right hand in your image

Jeff Briges is one of my favourite actor. I was thinking of sculpting him with a bowling ball or a “white russian”. I’m a big fan of the Dude

What are your references for the face?

Keep it comming, the result will certainly be great, for sure !

EricShawn - hopefully it will look more like him with my next update
MorphDivision - lol i cant believe i didnt notice that before i posted. your right that is unfortunate.
Sycron - Jeff is my favorite actor too. long live the DUDE

Hey!! what a great sketchbook!, the creatures are amazing!!! :+1:small_orange_diamond:+1:

Hey thanks manzarek123, kinda ran into a creative slump. Looking to make a strong portfolio piece but i dont want to create a creature of my own design. Anyone have any good ideas?

Its been a little while since i got a chance to use zbrush. However i am and loving the new features. thought i would post a character im working on to learn some of the new features. alien_1.jpg

I have seen your show reel a lot of time by now and must say very very inspiring, totally love the relaxing mood which comes together with the song and the ceramic looking sculptures! Really outstanding work!

Cheers and happy sculpting,
Kenny:)
