Just an Oldman

Happy New Year Everyone!
This is a model I was able to finish & upload just when the new year begins.
Just practiced my sculpting and poly painting on this one. I’m kind of uncomfortable with the way I did the hair. Other than that, spare me not thy comments and critical eyes. Thanks!

asteeeg! Good start

thanks pongstah. i’m still studying and experimenting on how to sculpt various hairstyles. specific hairstyles like these give me a lot of struggle.

I agree, this is a good start, i’d like to see more of it!

I updated this model with a different strategy in dealing with hair.
Well I guess it has to really be stylized… Rendered in best quality

good start. Might want to shorten the neck though.

nice work

Hello!

The front part seems to be ok, but the side view is a bit strange, i think the neck is too big and the upper part of the head maybe a bit flat .

Nice starting!

really like this, keep up the updates!

the hair on the second one is quite nice, any specific technique used for that?

Many thanks to those who took the time to criticized. I really needed them.

JesseGraffam: noted.
hio2009 : Thanks!

Gentleman: the whole side view or just the hair itself :qu: yeah i think the neck is kind of really disturbing as mentioned by jessegraffam as well as the upper part of the head. thanks

Digital_Vulture: I first extracted the areas of the head to what would be the hair.
-Used the move brush to create the general shape.
-then for the illusion of hair strands, just a standard brush with alpha36
with lazymouse on
-nudge brush for the curly effect.
-displace brush for adding volume without destroying the detail underneath.
Hope that helps.

Here is the newly updated model of the old man tweaked in accordance to your previous criticisms plus a new model that I’m currently working on. It’s the Poacher from Mcfarlane toys. Thanks again to those who replied
