Very cool,
is it all done in ZBrush?
Nice piece. Style reminds me of an old table top RPG, Fading Suns, I used to run long ago for my friends. Very appealing mix of high tech and old world ornament.
Great!
Very nice work, love the details!
Awesome gun Jon. Great to see you here.
Looking very good. I like the combination of a sci fi energy weapon with the ornamentation of a classic flint lock pistol.
However you seem to have so issues with the hardness of your edge. In some areas the edges are a bit too round and soft to be convincing as a metal material. The cooling ribs and the ornamental plates feel more like baked clay or ceramics rather than metal. And the muzzle almost looks like cloth or leather. The little crevices and cuts into the body are very good though, you should try to carry that hardness over to the rest of your edges.
Here is a pic to illustrate what I mean:

Thanks guys - I’m glad you dig it.
This is about 50/50 between ZBrush and Max.
I’m thinking on stiffening some of the edges on the front of the gun 0 will see how it bakes down in the low poly before making a final decision.
Thanks for the image Fingus. Although, I have to disagree with you. By that logic you’re saying that a sphere could never be metal, because it doesn’t have overly tight edges. Edge strength on metal can be represented in many different ways - not just a razor sharp edge.
Surfacing is what defines metal.
