Jeannot Landry Art Dump

Hi everyone, my name is Jeannot Landry, I am a 3D generalist mostly using open source, but on the 1st of september 2013 I bought ZBrush 4r6 and I must say, it is just plain awesome, I am still learning all the new tools and such.

Here is my first wip, its some kind of werewolf, highly inspired by the World Of Warcraft Worgen.

Tomorow I am thinking of trying the new fiber mesh and try to make this werewolf look good with fur

I hope you all like

Well, to sum it up, I have been trying to get some good result with very little success with fibre to add fur!

Anybody knows of any good tutorials?

Thx in advance

Seriously, no critics?
No help on fibre mesh for hair and fur? Tutorials?
How did my thread got 5 stars if I ain’t got no replies?

Well, I ain’t got no updates since I couldn’t get good results with Z-Brush fibre mesh.

I’ll try to spend more time on fibre mesh to get a good grasp on it. Creating the fibre mesh ain’t the hard part, its combing it that is hard. I may just bring the model with textures in blender and do it in there since I already know how it work and how to get good results out of it.

Here is a little update, further defining my working pipeline between ZBrush and Blender. So far, so good, I think its heading the right way. Base sculpt done in ZBrush, retopo in Blender, UVs and textures in ZBrush, Fur and Render in Blender Internal. Still have to texture the inside of the mouth (Teeth & tongue) as well as the claws and the eyeballs. Perhaps I will also add some dried blood stains on the shorts.

I hope y’all like  Any C&C is more then welcome

I like the design! Great proportions, and the furs looking pretty nice. My only comment is it’s way too dark, it’s hard to tell what’s going on. Maybe add more lights or brighten the fur color.

Try that link for some help with the fiber mesh. Rick Baker posted a tutorial that shows some pretty good results you can get by layering different lengths, colors, thicknesses, etc of hair.

As far as your model, I like the first post without the hair. Although something about the shoulder / neck portion feels a little off, the Anubis like style that you have going looks pretty good. I would elongate the snout a bit, pull the edges of the mouth back and push that design further with a little less hair on the top of the head.

But that’s just my 2 cents…

The fur looks really nice ! I’ve also worked on fur on one of my projects some days ago, I like how the fibermesh could be rendered well even outside of zbrush with textures for pattern too, like in keyshot
Keep it up! I’d like to see where this is going!

cganim8or : Thanks  I forgot to mention it is intended for a night style spooky animation

XxDarkMessiahxX : Thanks  I have seen that tutorial, he makes it look easy. Its mostly the way the combing brushes behaves that I don’t like. I prefer doing fur in Blender, its much easier and I am sort of used to it by now :stuck_out_tongue:
Hey we all have our own ways of working  Own style as well :stuck_out_tongue:

Dantert : Thanks  This fur is however all created in blender. The fur texture was painted in ZBrush though.

Here is brighter render comp, C & C is again welcome:

Little Update here, I did keep the other non bloody textures, I wanted to see if he could look meaner with blood all over. Beside the blood I finished the inner mouth (Teeth & Tongue) and only the eyes left to do before rigging.
I may or may not keep the blood, or maybe use both in my little project.

I hope you guys like  (Any C&C is as usual more then welcome)

Hey everyone, Here is what I got so far, rig is about 80% done and almost ready for animation.

Hope you’all like  (C&C is as usual very welcome)
