As a student myself I think the skin looks great. Like the scale of pores & stubble are, to me really tricky. ( You’re not alone in your pursuit buddy, Right there with you. ^^ )

You probably have a reference shot that makes him look a bit intense or wide awake. I would consider looking if you can adjust the upper lid to the edge of the pupil from another reference photo. (I’m speculating but I can’t tell if the eyeballs are too small or the lid needs adjusting but I think it’ll be more evident to you if you for instance take a screenshot to analyze comparing it to the ref in ps? To gain a fresh perspective what actually needs doing instead of “trying to sort things out” as I usually do. )
I’ve also seen a lot of wonkiness about the eyes in head scans, most have slightly widened(winded?) eyes if you look closely. It might help to adjust the rotation of the eyes like 3-4 degrees outwards?

Summery:

  • Extra check on the Eyeball size or upper lid to ref.

  • Consider rotating the eyeballs minutely outwards ( Dependent on ref. )

All the best!
