Jason Statham

Hi all, since it is like 4 years ago that I posted something on this forum, let me introduce myself. My name is Roel Herrebrugh and I am currently studying International Game Architecture and Design to become a vfx artist. Whut? but you are doing a game study? Yep, but I am more interested in commercial/film:laughing:
When I posted my first sculpts on this forum I had zero knowledge about any element in 3D. (It is funny to see these posts now though). In 2008 I started the ā€œIGADā€ course, and since then my knowledge about 3D (especially the technical aspects) rapidly increased (Thanks teachers!). So now I am busy with my internship and had some time to start sculpting again in place of doing homework! It is my first attempt to finish a piece from sculpting to texturing/shading to rendering. There are still some errors, feedback is always welcome.:+1:

Ah and some more info:
Basemesh was made in maya, sculpt and basic polypaint in Zbrush. Additional texturing in mudbox and photoshop. Rendered in maya with mentalray. 2 fur systems; beard and hair.

looks great,
did ya have troubles rendering the fur? diid it render fast?
cheers!

It’s pretty good.

So you say Zbrush was only used to Polypaint?

minastris: Tnx =D I had no trouble rendering the fur, and it was pretty fast. I think it took around 20-30 minutes for the complete image. (I rendered everything at one go)

EricShawn: Also tnx! I used zbrush also for the sculpting:D

some low poly wires to show the topology:

Ello m8, I know Jason Statham very well, your nearly there, but his eyes are quite a way off, it kinda looks like a blow up doll at the moment, (dont take the crit as a bad one), take another look at the eyes man they are not lifelike whatsoever, he needs more of a scowel, its too symmetrical at the mo, I gather this may be a wip. THE Good luck m8, this could be great! THE EYES THE EYES!!! sort em!

Ares, thanks for the feedback! It is always welcome:D. I wait until I gathered enough feedback that is worth adjusting the sculpt again, and then, yeh adjust it :P. So tnx

i think you need to fix his jaw, by the way i recognize him XD

wow this is a coincidence ^^ was looking for a reference and other jason statham sculpts cause I’m just starting one of my own.
anyways, awesome work maybe a little bit too symmetrical but definitely nice!

greetings Jenny (fellow igad’er)

allaze-eroler: Yeah, I def need to fix his jaw. But so little time at the moment. Someday there will be an update ^^.

Jenny, yeah that sure is a coincidence! If you have the basis for his sculpt we maybe could compare the two, observe what errors are made and make like super-realistic Jason sculpts :stuck_out_tongue:

haha that would be awesome :stuck_out_tongue: will let you know when mine is decent enough ^^
