Jagged edges in spotllight and with alphas

jagged edges2.jpg

I try add some text to my model with spotlight. You can see in the picture the edges of the letters are jagged.I tried to blur the image slightly in Ps but still I get jagged edges. I tried to export a higher res texture too but no luck. I tried it with alphas and drag rect too and I had the same result so I’m guessing it’s a brush setting.

What am I missing?

Maybe subdivide the sculpt more? (before you do the text)

It’s not the model resolution because when I sculpt without an alpha it’s not jagged. I tested it on a simple mesh too just in case.

It must be something with the transparency in Zbrush.

could be the bit depth of the alpha?

I tried it with 32 bit and 16 bit but Zbrush didn’t recognize them, they imported into Zbrush weird.

Thanks for trying to help me.

That’s the problem with raster images…the jaggies! If ZBrush could use vector images, it would be nice and smooth. Maybe in the future, ZBrush will ba able to use vector graphics (wishlist).

Something else you can try instead of using Spotlight, and I think will give you better results. Use Projection Master instead and blur the alpha a bit.

Thanks Zber2. I’ll try that.
