Issues using the Surface noisemaker. Stretching and distortion even within UV mode.

[FONT=arial]Hello All!
[FONT=arial]I have run into an issue with the surface noisemaker, and I am hoping someone can help me out. I am trying to apply a Knit like pattern to this sweater mesh I have created. However, even when I apply the alpha into the noisemaker and set it to UV mode, I am getting weird stretching. I have tried applying, and re-applying. I don’t feel like my mesh is too bad, and I think my UV’s are pretty clean as far as seams go. Any help would be appreciated!

Here are some images demonstrating the issue.

I would first run ZRemesher to get a more uniform polygon size across the mesh, as those rectangular ones aren’t helping things.

@dillster
That’s just one of (too many) platitudes repeated among Zbrush users.
There is difference between texture mapping and polypainting/sculpting/modeling.

@Christopher

Make sure you dont have texture on when using Surface noisemaker.
Zbrush can’t handle more than one map at same time.
Although if you apply it, it would apply normally. It’s (just) preview prob.

P.S.
As for seems and cloth UVing:
That should be one of easiest things to unwrap.
Cloth is made from flat peaces sewn-stitched to one, so naturally it should have (visible) seems, just in right places.

@Modos

Even after I apply the detail, it is distorted. I will try turning off the texture map and then reapplying, maybe that is the issue.

@dillster

Is my mesh really that bad? That mesh is a retopologized mesh I made in 3D coat. I am so frustrated with the process of retopologizing and UV unwrapping. I felt like I had gotten it down to a some what workable level, but maybe I haven’t? I really dont know what I am missing if it is, I have watched hours and hours of tutorials at this point. Short of going to school, I feel like Its a lost cause if its still wrong.

You mean like the comments from you that are completely unnecessary?

@modos

That was it! Holy crap… Turned the texture map off, and it worked! Thank you!!
