Is there any brush that does a reverse extrude

If you had a pipe shape and the end cap is a polygroup, you can extend the length of the pipe by using the zmodeler to extrude out the end cap polygroup.

But what if you wanted a similar type of brush where you could click on the end cap polygroup and drag to shorten the pipe, and zbrush would automatically remove the side wall geometry of the pipe as you draged the end to shorten the pipe?

Thanks

I use Gizmo>Scale for shortening things.

Thanks Bonnie, I am looking for something like the extrude polygroup, because it can work along the normals of diferent subtools at once that are the same group but at different angels. Where as scale can only move everything along three axis.

you can do this now. You can also hold shift when you’re using Zmodeler to simply move the geometry instead of doing an extrude. It sounds like this is what you want.

Hi Beta, can you clarify- “you can do this now”

and what zmodeler function were you refering to as far as holding shift? If you are refering to Q mesh, with shift it just moves a poly group, but will not subtract any geo.

Thanks

This is shown on a single poly but you can do this for the cap of your cylinder as well and should get the same result.

Thanks Beta, I tried that on a the end of a pipe but it did not work, maybe I need to simplify my Geo. to allow it to work.
