Is there a way to repeat a stroke along a curve?

Basically what I want to be able to do is draw a curve, make a stroke along that curve, translate the curve down, then make another stroke along the same curve. This seems like something that ZBrush should be able to do, but after a lot of Googling I have not been able to find an answer.
