Is there a way to do a perfectly even brush stoke around an edge?

I’m wondering if there is a way to do a perfectly even stroke around the edge of a poly group using a normal brush. I know I can use ctrl+shift to run a curve brush around an edge, and although they work very differently, I’m wondering if I can do something similar with a normal brush? Or if there is another other different way to do the same thing using a normal brush?

Directly, I’m using a brush that looks like a sewing seam, and want to run it around the hem of a t-shirt sleeve for example and have it an even distance from the sleeves end all the way around. I can sculpt it in with lazy mouse etc, but it’s hard to keep even and I’ve got a lot of these hem areas do to so am wondering if I can automate part of the process.

Maby Radial Symmetry can help?
Create a layer > Move SubTool to symmetry line > Then enable Radial Symmetry > Use the layer to move it back again.

Or:

Transpose were you want the straight line
Ctrl-click the white circle to snap camera
Start draw and press “shift” to make a straight horizontal line
But you will have to use transpose a few times to go all the way around.

But I don’t know, I’m new to ZBrush. I will follow this thread to learn more.

Thanks DA-DA. The lines I want to make aren’t 100% straight. The curve of a neckline for instance isn’t a cylinder it’s kind of scooped, so I don’t think radial symmetry will be effective. Also at this stage the clothing is asymmetrical. That’s why I thought some kind of snap to polygroup thing like how a curve brush can work would be cool. But, wishful thinking. For the moment I’m just been free-handing the seam brush on and it’s going okay, just time consuming because I’ve got a lot of pieces.
