Is there a way to disable the middle click pop up when right click naviagation is disabled?

I am pretty new to zbrush. I am using the middle click script to change the navigation because I found that alt and control changing their functions a bit hard to get used to. The script has been great but the issue I am running into is that the pivot point for the camera rotation seems to change at random. I did some searching online and as far as I can tell, this is caused by right click navigation. Since I am not not using the right mouse button, I thought I wouldn’t need right click navigation but when I tried disabling it, a pop up quick menu started showing up every time I clicked the middle mouse button which makes the middle mouse script useless.

Please let me know if anyone has any idea of how to solve this issue or the issue of the pivot point changing and thank you in advance for your help.

Hi @pseudo.boots ,

The middle click script is not a standard part of ZBrush. You can try disabling the right click pop up with Preferences> Navigation> Enable Right Click Pop-Up. Remember to store the config in the Config menu for changes to be remembered at startup.

The Pivot switching issue is caused by Local Transformations. This can be found and disabled in the Transform palette. However, this is a very useful feature most of the time. Sculpting close-in on some meshes may be difficult without it. The feature causes the mesh to pivot around the last point of contact.

If Right Click navigation is enabled, then right-clicking over any point of the mesh will count as a point of contact. This can be very useful for quickly and non-destructively changing the pivot on a mesh for easier access to certain areas. If you simply take care to click outside of the mesh when rotating most of the time, you can keep this feature active for that purpose.

There are different options for Navigation in ZBrush. However, the functions for Shift, Ctrl, and Alt are hard coded into the program and very important for many functions in ZBrush. It would be best to commit these to muscle memory.

Thank you for your response and for taking the time to write a well thought out answer. Based on your response though, I think I might have not been clear enough about my issue. The Pivot switching issue I am talking about is not the Local Transformations feature that you mentioned. I actually find this feature very helpful and I would like to keep it enabled. The issue I am having is that the Local Transformations function is not working as intended.

Like you said, the Local Transformations function is supposed to cause the mesh to pivot around the last point of contact. However for me, when I rotate the mesh and another part of the mesh comes in front of the screen, the pivot point for the Local Transformations function will switch to that new area, even if there is no “contact”. This has become a problem when I am working on the hand of a model. I rotate around the hand and sometimes the body comes into the camera view and suddenly my camera is rotating around the body instead of the hand where I am working. Again, my main issue is the pivot point changing without any new brush strokes.

A user on another website was talking about this same issue and claimed that it was caused by right click navigation, which is why I tried to disable it but disabling it also caused a pop up menu to appear on middle click. The Enable Right Click Pop-Up option you mentioned has no effect on this.

Thank you again for taking the time to read my questions.
