Is there a way to create a raised shell (newsubtool) based of a region of your model?

Hi all! So I’m experimenting with Zbrush having come from 3Dcoat. One cool thing that 3Dcoat lets you do is to create a new object (subtool) with a raised surface (thickness) by drawing on a region of your sculpt. I’m trying to figure out a way to do this in Zbrush but no luck so far. Here is a gif of what I mean?

Any tips?

You’re looking for the Tool > Subtool > Extract function. It works with applied masking. So either paint or otherwise apply a mask, then generate an extract from it at the desired settings as a new subtool.
