Is there a better way to do it?

This is my first time creating a thread, so I’m sure there are some mistakes.
Currently, he is personally working on the NIKE ARI MAX 720 while practicing ZBRUSH.
During this process, it was necessary to carve grooves into the sneakers.
I divided only the groove part into polygroups, partially masked it, and expanded it to create the groove.

After remeshing with group maintenance and making it low poly
I was thinking of adjusting the position and spacing of the grooves.
The polygroup collapsed and it took a lot of time to adjust.
Specifically, I had no choice but to make it as low-poly as possible, match the shape with the MOVE tool, smooth it with polish, adjust it again, and repeat.
However, I thought that the method was fundamentally wrong, so I created a thread.

My main questions are two.
First, did I have to do this to create grooves with multiple meshes?
I thought it would be easier to create a clean mesh by dividing one mesh into polygroups.
Then I thought it would be easy to animate a single mesh.
But was it better?

Second, is the production process correct, dividing the mesh created with high polygons into poly groups and gradually converting it to low poly?

I also watched quite a few tutorials.
It seems like there are some features that I don’t know about, so if you have any useful features, please let me know. Thank you.

If you think from ther start that you might need to change the position and/or profile of the grooves, then it might be best to create them as a separate subtool which you can then Boolean subtract from the main shoe form.

One method would be to create a Morph Target of the main shoe form. Then carve in the grooves and create a Morph Difference. This will capture the form of the grooves. Switch Morph the get your main shoe form back again. ZRemesh the groove subtool so it’s low poly. That will make it easier to move, smooth and reshape. Activate Live Boolean and set the groove tool to subtractive to see a live update of the main shoe form with grooves cut into it. Adjust the groove subtool and see the effect in real time.

Maybe others will chime in with alternative or better methods. Cheers.
