is it possible have the tool size visible when actually applying the tool to surface?

maybe its an obvious setting but i cant see it!
There are situations when i am working where it would be really nice the see the perimeter of the tool.
this would help prevent me from making cuts in near surfaces.

any advice would be most appreciated.

Check right side of UI for>> “Transp” (Activate Edit Transparency when moused over), be sure it’s off. You can also mask and or hide parts of the model to avoid hurting them. Polygroups can be very effective and useful. Holding down Ctrl while over most items tells you about the item. HTH

hi Doug
thanks for taking time to reply.
the objects i am working on are faceted with lots of convoluted planes that are shaped with tools to flatten them, sort of semi hard edged abstract.
when digging into valleys it would be nice to see the tool extents as a visual aid.
a choice to have ghosted tool shapes/sizes would be ideal if it were possible.
grouping , masking etc is a bit impractical due to the spontaneous flowing nature of the work.

[Looking forward to R7!]

Maybe you want it on then. There are options you can adjust.
Subtools might be the answer.
Draw Size will make a difference as well as Intensity and Focal Shift.
