is importing an OBJ file from another app (Rhino 3D) wit texture/color info possible

I have some simple mesh objects made in Rhino 3D.
I always import non colored / textured OBJ from rhino whit no problems to zbrush.
But now I have add some basic colors to some objects that I would like to have the same color in ZB.
I am wondering if this import is possible, and how it might be done?

The OBJ format doesn’t support vertex colors and ZBrush ignores materials, so with that format you would have to export a texture map for ZBrush to be able to import colors. I don’t know if Rhino handles UVs and texture map creation.

Alternatively, if Rhino exports to the FBX format you could try that. FBX supports vertex colors and there’s an option in ZBrush’s FBX plugin to import materials as polygroups.

Yes Rhino 3D does have FBX, so I will experiment with that.
