Interactive swf turntable??

Good morning everyone,

Would like to create flash turntables, just like the ones in the Pixologic Turntable Gallery. (where moving the mouse rotates it left and right)

No issue exporting a .MOV of a sculpture, and using Adobe After Effects to make an eternally rotating swf. But I’m clueless as to how to make something that shuttles left and right.

Any suggestions? I’ve seen different kinds appear on forums and DeviantArt. Is there some sort of plugin? Or magical 3rd party application?

I think that the Turntable Gallery probably uses a custom made display which is put together in Flash. I know it uses an image sequence from ZBrush rather than a movie file.

If you have Flash then you may be able to create something similar for yourself, or perhaps there is an ‘off the shelf’ solution somewhere you could use. There is an example FLA & SWF here by Todd Lajoie that might be useful: http://www.gotoandlearnforum.com/viewtopic.php?t=14554#p96467

Thank you very much Marcus,

Tried the .fla file on the forum post, but it seems it was intended for an older version of Adobe Flash. (Something about converting ActionScript 2.0 to 3.0)

Although I have creative cloud I know nothing about flash and coding.

Ah well, this was just a curiosity. It’s not as if I have a paid project to rationalize spending money on a solution. :stuck_out_tongue:

If anyone has a Flash solution that is easy for a novice making something similar to these would be neat.
