Integrating 'floating' geometry in generating normal maps???

Hey guys,

This is probably a dumb question, but can you include floating geometry when generating normal maps in zmapper?

By ‘Floating’ I mean stuff sitting on your geometry but are a separate subtool. Say you model your low poly mesh in Maya then start detailing it in Zbrush, if you create a new subtool and position it on your mesh (e.g a button on a shirt), can you include that button in the normal map? If yes, could someone please explain the process. Thankyou!

P:S
I have enclosed a real-time ubber render to further illustrate my meaning. Please feel free to ask if you wish to use this image in your websites/portfolios/etc.

You would need to merge the SubTools before you can create the normal map. SubTool Master is an easy way to do this.

Alternatively, you can go to your highest level with the base figure and then use Tool>SubTool>Project All to copy the details from the other SubTools. Then go to level 1 and create your normal map.

Ahhh I see! Thankyou very much!
