Insta Crash with HD geometry :(

Well I got my model to a decent point and decided to try a small bit of HD modeling. So I hit the HD divide button (nothing happens).
Then I remember to save it first… I hit save and click ok to overwrite the previous file and boom crash.

OK so hoping the model saved… open zbrush and try to load the model… Boom crash.

I am now unable to open my most recent save as Zbrush crashes instantly with the info bar at the top saying “Loading 0 million high def polygons”

Has anyone else experienced this? My model is now totally unavalible to me cause I cant get it to open

What are your setting at Preference>Mem?
Andreseloy

ps:the model before HD what No Polygon have?

I have 1 gig of RAM and my memory is set to compact at 900megs or so.

Beofre HD modeling it was at a lil over 2 mill but I had all except the chest area hidden at the time so was down to about 560k polys on screen at the time it crashed.

for 1 GB RAM the set 900 or so is to high.
Play between 600-800

Well mem is set to 750 now… unfortunatly thats not solving the insta crash on trying to load :frowning:

Your model has become corrupted. There won’t be a way to load it again. But the lower Compact Mem setting will help avoid this problem in the future.

If you have Windows 2000 or XP, then 756 is a good setting for Compact Mem.

If you have Vista, you should actually lower Compact Mem to 500. This is especially true if you run Aero.

sigh I was afraid of that… Ah well… I ended up remodeling what I had done the night before again.

Thanks for the help with the mem settings
