im stuck…
what does one do when you have no inspiration?

Generally, i just go watching a heavy VFX movie, or just watching some artist works on the web, or in museums, having a walk…
If nothing happens, then i take a break
But keep positive !
Good luck !
Hi Turnip
Just explore functions of Zbrush
Read the manual
There are some treasure in each Menu !
Have happy exploration!

I have an idea now
It came to me as I was hanging some washing out, as you do! It might be a bit hard for me but I am still going to have a go.
The idea is this:
A man (or woman) standing with his/her arms folded and a non-suggestive expression on his/her face, not happy, not sad. Then there would be a very strong shadow that he is casting that portrays someone under huge distress (screaming or something). This would be like suffering in silence.
I have no idea how Im gunna do it though, I think I will have to use ZSpheres and will also have to learn about shadows and making clothes. At least it will keep me going for a while!
Any tips/suggestions?

when you want ideas they dont come(i made music for 10 years and when i wanted something really hard nothing came, the same is with 3d stuff or anything else what has to do with art)but when you think or do something else like taking a walk watching movies or even sleeping you will have many ideas.some days i have no idea and on another day i have to many and sometimes im to lazy.maybe the zbrush tutorials will give you some good inspirations.
this might sound weird , but I find sleeping a good method to get ideas , I think of lotsa things in my sleep
me too!
One small hint that works for me is: Always
carry your sketch book with you, you never
know when you get all those brainstorms.
:b2:
generally i get inspired when im not trying to be. taking walks with the dog, or during the shower, or right before going to sleep, or just travelling in general.
other times its when im looking through artists portfolios and i see something really neat, and i want to try something like they have done.( this happens too often to me, and is usually the answer why i always move onto new things before finishing my last personal project… )
sleep deprivatioin provides alot for me…and then just the opposite…I will take and eat a big load of carbohydrates and go to bed shortly afterwards…or do the same with an extremely spicy meal…gives me some kewl disturbing strong dreams and though i don’t awake refreshed, but instead I am tired coz I ran from Leatherface and hoards of Zombies taking over the world in my sleep…but at least i have some new ideas of sorts to pound out on the computer…/// I like your screaming shadow idea…
ps…The Namek …just keep doing whatever it is that keeps these wonderful monster heads here of late flowing from ya…they inpsire me…

If you try to blank your mind of everything, you will find that while trying to do so, all kinds of ideas go floating by. The key is to catch a few, so that you can use them in the future.
thats right and well said deevee, and write some of the ideas down to paper cause sometimes it isnt possible to remember everything.
sorry to disappoint u , Ron , but my latest “monster” is a cutie
As Strike said , watching some effects movies is a good way to go too
For me its the shower…I have solved a great many complicated math and chem problems in the shower as well dreaming up new ideas…i think its a mix between the the sound and feeling of warm water hiting your body
that does the trcik.I also agree with manitu that the trully amazing ideas should not be forced , set your mind the task and in its subconcious it will decide for you, simply wait or try to avoke it by say reading a book or practicing some form of art …like modelling or painting…no matter what it is.However you first must set your self the task!
For me personally art is a form of relaxation so most times I have my best idea’s and results when I’m really stressed or know I have some very stressfull weeks ahead :))
I hope you find it…you’ve probably already have
