Indicator of partially hidden mesh?

Hey,

is there any sort of indicator of when portions of a subtool are hidden, some sort of visual UI feedback? Or some ZScript magic that can help? Or do I just have to remember I’ve hidden something?

Why I ask: I often save my work and sometimes do so without the entirety of all subtool meshes being visible. Now let’s say I load such a partially hidden tool months later into ZBrush without me knowing that I saved it partially hidden. Is the only way to check whether I’m seeing everything to do a SHIFT+CTRL click on the canvas or have I missed something?

In 3ds Max I get a helpful message on opening of a scene in isolated view to let me know there’s more going on in the scene than what’s currently visible. Something like that would be nice I guess.

Hello @stevez

There is no such indicator. Feature requests can be submitted at ZBrush Support, tied to the email address your license is registered to.

Thank you!

I put the Subtool > Split > Split Hidden button on my custom UI, when this button appears to be usable, it means there’s a portion of the subtool hidden.

If you hold your cursor over the large thumbnail in the Tool palette a pop-up will show which includes “Total Hidden Polys”. If this is a number other than zero you know that at least one of the subtools has hidden polys.
