UV’s. Ugh. The bane of everyone’s existence. Apparently, just trying to UV a simple cylinder is too much for me even after all the countless videos. So, I’ve attached a series of screenshots ni hopes that someone will have a kind heart and show me what I’m missing.
Here’s the cylinder all nice a UV’d in Maya. I don’t care about the caps as I don’t need them.
The cylinder in ZBrush. Looking good still.
Here’s the same cylinder with a NoiseMaker applied. So, why the did the texture get applied incorrectly?
To double check, I tried using ZBrush UV tools. Mind you this is a base 3d mesh in ZB, nothing has been done to it. This one is with UVC(ylinder) applied. So, with a default mesh it should be perfect. Yet, it’s just the same as before.
This last one is with ZBrush UVP(lanar) applied. Again, same result.
I’m at a loss. UVing isn’t overly complex yet I can’t even UV a f!@$ing cylinder! I’d like to get this UV issue behind me and move on with my life. If that isn’t possible maybe I’ll just stick with modeling and pay someone from India $10 to do my UVing for me.
Thanks in advance for anyone with a kind soul out there.
