importing obj file

I have a face modelling program that makes 3d models from pictures. I want to importthe models into zbrush so i can work on them. They are in obj form and i already know how to import the mesh but i am not sure how to import the skin color and everything else. There is an mlt file as well as bitmaps or jpegs that the face modelling program creates. Can someone explain or send me a link that gives me a walkthrough of this process. Thank u

zBrush does not read .mtl files because zBrush uses its own native format .zmt for materials.

What you are likely going to need to do is polypaint new textures at hi res and create new UV at low res.
Typically textures such as colors are png or jpg files which can be imported into zBrush using the Texture Menu. However if your export did supply these textures files then you have an opportunity to polypaint new textures in zBrush.

Actually if I am reading this correctly you should have photographic textures already made for you, these would be what the .mtl files are pointing at. .Obj files that have .mtll files with them generally have uv’s already and your textures should simply work with a slight push.

So…
Assuming that this is the case, once you import the .obj file you would then got into the Texture Map Palette under Tools, import your texture image using thha and then hit the Texture On button.
If all goes well you should see pretty much what you are after.

If you succeed with importing texture and it looks flipped. Then you will need flip UV’s Vertically:
Tool -> UV Map - Adjust -> Flip V
