Importing And Scaling Issues

I have researched this problem, but I havent found any reason for why ZBrush does this. When I create geometry in another application at a specific size and import the OBJ file into ZB, it comes in at the wrong size. When I go into the Export tab at the bottom of the Tool Palate, it always has some random scale factor and offsets listed, where when I had checked before the importing, it’s Scale 1, xyz offsets 0. When I reset those values to scale 1 and zero offsets, then re-import the OBJ, THEN it comes in at the right size… most of the time. When that doesn’t work, I can usually resize the object in ZB with the Size subpalate in the geometry tab and reposition the tool, but I’d like to be able to skip my workaround progress and have the piece come in exactly where I modeled it in relation to the rest of the model.

So my first question, is there a reason why Zbrush does this, and second, is there a way to override ZBrush’s default tendency to scale an item differently upon import so that it comes in at the exact dimensions I specify in the other program.

Thanks for any insight into this problem!

I find using Subtool Master’s Multi-Append works out pretty flawless for me when it comes to bouncing models between programs.
