IMM settings and colour - HELP!

Hi all,

I’ve made a really basic strap brush using a flattened polymesh cube. I’d box modelled one in maya first and imported it but I was getting weird artifacts in one place along the curve when I applied it as a curve brush so I went back to doing it all in zbrush.

I gave the box some UVs with UV master, then polypainted it and created a texture from the polypaint. I’ve got colourize on. When I switch the texture on the curve goes black.

How do apply a texture to an object and then use that object as an IMM brush and have it repeat the colour along the curve? Is there a tutorial for this that anyone is aware of?

Also, I have start and end locked, but every time I add a bit more to the curve it tugs the rest a little bit and where I have it wrapped around something it’s starting to corkscrew rather than staying flat to the surface. Does anyone know why this is? I saw something in the zbrush docs about a ‘soft curve’ option which adds a twist to the curve - where is it and how do I switch it off?

I’d appreciate any pointers because this is seriously doing my head in.

Cheers.

IMM wont really support a UV-based textures due to the changing vertex order when you draw it out onto an existing mesh. Polypaint will still be supported: http://docs.pixologic.com/user-guide/3d-modeling/sculpting/sculpting-brushes/insert-mesh/creating-imms/ (very bottom of the page).

Unfortunately I can’t help with the other question at the moment.
