IM curve brush snap to surf & face camera

Hi there,

I’m currently trying to use my custom IM curve brush so that it snaps to the surface I’m drawing on and at the same time faces a specific vector (e.g.) camera view. I have attached an image showing the current result and the desired result. Is there any option or workaround that can be used to achieve this result?

Thank you in advance!

Hello @Mined ,

Please familiarize yourself with the IM brush documentation. It explains certain scenarios where the program will keep the orientation of the last IM mesh inserted, and how to reset that orientation.

Here are some additional tips.

  1. Disable Perspective mode. This can change the orientation of the inserted mesh.

  2. Re-create the brush making absolutely certain that the mesh is Shift-locked to the correct axis facing the camera. If the mesh is not perfectly perpendicular to the camera at the time of brush creation it will transfer that misalignment to every surface it is drawn out on.

I checked this documentation and everything works fine for IMM without curve mode, but as soon as I enable curve mode, the option to change the orientation in respect to the defined gizmo (Shift while inserting) doesn’t work anymore.
