Idea: Face poser

I’m not sure if this is possible, but I’ll put this out to the ZScripters on the forum and see if this idea is possible with ZB4 and the new animation features?

It’s basically a humaniod face “rig” of zspheres with sliders you can operate to change the expression of your character. Much like the Poser application. You apply the rig to your mesh in the same mannor as applying a spheres for posing - or with the new Match maker brush, mold the rig onto the user’s face model, and you have a set number of pre-defined expressions for mouth, or eyebrows movements, or even whole-facial expressions.

The purpose of this isn’t to create a template of expressions, but I see two major reasons - 1: to use ZBrush for more quicker production workflow purposes, (eg- comic book illustration), and 2: to allow the ZB artist to focus on the real artistry of an expression (eg a ‘smile’) and the time to focus on bringing it to life with the eyes’s and wrinkles, etc. Stop the blank-stare syndrome!

If this idea ‘tickles anyone’s fancy’, then please make it! I’m no ZScripter or programmer!

Any chance of a ZScripting video in the ZClassroom??! I’ll make it myself!

Just to add on to your idea here.
How bout it works with multiple morphs.
By store morph targets you can get a range of effects.

Also have default phonomes set up so that after this rig is created and bound to the mesh you can hit a phonome button that will give you the basic setup and you alter it to its final look.

If I knew how to program well I would do it myself.
I am still learning how the compiler works. :stuck_out_tongue:
Slow going but someday I will start writing code.

The purpose of this isn’t to create a template of expressions. I think so
