I can't make animations! Image converter?

Hi everyone. I’m having a slight problem…I can’t make animation files with maya! (.mov, .avi, etc etc.) All I’m apparently able to do is batch render a bunch of image files…which is nice, but I can’t really show anyone my animations if they’re broken up by frames, haha! Anyway, I was just wondering if anyone here knows of any programs that will convert a bunch of image files (.tiff, jpg, .bmp, whatever…) into a single movie file. Either that, or maybe a plugin that just allows me to render movie files straight from maya?

Thanks for the help everyone, I appreciate it.

Go here…

This is a list of software that you can piece together your image files. Some of the freeware software is really good. I prefer…

The easiest and cheap way is to upgrade your quicktime player to PRO. That can load image sequences and make .mov’s and .avi’s with all the codecs installed on your PC. You can even cut scenes together and even add an audio track.

PS:I made this with it:

I did not know about the optimum settings… So forgive for the crushed frames… The Lemophonics have been added later with Quicktime as well.

Ah, thank you both so much! Problem solved.

Gottsbett: I downloaded that program you recommended. It looks really cool, especially for stop motion type stuff, which I’ve always been a fan of. Maybe I’ll have to finally get into that now. Thanks!

Lemmonnado: Ah, I had no idea quicktime could do that. I just updated; works perfectly. Thanks a lot to you too! Also, your animation was bizarre and very interesting, the music fit very well. ^ ^

Here’s the crappy little animation I just made with the help of you two, just messing around with maya’s shading/node system (I didn’t really have a very firm grasp on it until a few days ago.):

It’s not a “complete” animation obviously; I’m going to make something much cooler with that shader soon. I’ll be using zbrush for modeling the detail work on some pipes and such. Hopefully it’ll come out cool.

I’ll post the full movie when it’s finished I guess. Thanks again for the help guys.

Virtualdub allow you to compile image sequences for free

^Nice, I’ll probably try that one out too, thanks.
