Husband and Wife WIP…

Hi All,

Some characters I am working on for a visual reference for a film pitch I have coming up. They definitely aren’t finished but thought I’d start a progressive thread as I will be placing them in a scene together.

I haven’t paid too much attention to the ears yet, just got the general form in place so I will be addressing that in future updates. The wife character has had the least attention as well

Any C&C is welcome.

Cheers

Ben

i dig the wifey sculpt so far. the only thing that bugs me about the hubby is his mouth seems like a v. imo i’d like to see a little more rounded curve to it, unless you are going for that “nervous uncomfortable” look. and his throat/neck seems a little too far forward towards his chin.

Thanks for the reply Logick. I think I agree withh you about the v shaped mouth. I’m designing the hubby from an illustration a good friend of mine did, guess the mouth shape didn’t carry over too well from the illustrated concept.

In regards to the throat/neck area, the character is more of a caricature, so he’s not meant to be too phystically accurate. I don’t mind bending the rules a bit to get the bring out a little more personality in my characters

I will definitely be going back and refining him though, so thanks very much for your advice.

In the meantime, here is an update of the wife character.

Yainderidoo

Thanks for the kind words Yainderidoo. I appreciate the feedback

Here’s an update of the hubby character. Went back and tried a few of your suggestions, thanks again for the input Logick. He’s starting to look more like I want him too but his lips are still bugging me. I think he is pouting a bit too much. Maybe smooth out the transition from the lips to the upper and lower lip?

Just a little experiment with a bit of hair. They won’t be animated so I have a few options available to me. The eyes are just placeholers. :o

Heh heh … fun styles. Looking forward to see how your experiment turns out.

Don’t forget … there are two branches to the antihelix in the ear, with the triangular fossa in between. Apologies … I am in ‘ear-pedantry’ mode. :+1:

 Thanks for advice on the ears Moochie! I have a bit of trouble getting the topology of the ear right in Zbrush for some reason. The polys never seem to flow the way I want them  I will be reworking them a tad more before I make a start on the bodies and set pieces.

The hair isn’t how it will look in the final btw, just a bit of fun

Cheers
