Hello to everyone. I’m practicing in sculpting human head, I hope you guess who is this. First of all I’d like to be sure that the main form of the head is correct and anatomically accurate. Please if you see any mistakes point on them. Thanks in advance.
Hi, brother!
Hey, I like your work its good and solid.
I take this Image can be helpfull
sometimes is necessary to look other sculpting or modeling, of course thats
is diferent but the principal idea is smooth some lines to give the head an intention of less age. (if you continue in this lines he will be like an old man its a age increasing)

In other word I liked you work!!!

Thanks for your kind words and for your image, he looks pretty much alike, especially his eyes. About his age, maybe you are right i made him too old, but i think this is not the main problem. In some other forum i’ve been told that it has problems with anatomy and main form of the scull, but they don’t tell me what exactly is wrong. Here i’ve made new topology for him, and I’m trying to break him on flat surfaces for better understanding of the form.

I tried other materials but i think this one is the best for better seeng the form, maybe i’ve just got used to it…
Just update.
well

wobcoming thanks, that was helpful
Here’s and update, trying to make him alike.

pay really close attention to building up masses and the curves that form those masses. look at the eyes very, very closely, the corners of the mouth, how high your nostril is in comparison, the crease line from his nose to his jaw and the masses around his chin, etc. be VERY self critical and think in contours.

Thanks a lot for your comment! I’m using screenshots from diehard 4 as reference, and the problem is that his face is always moving and all the curves and forms differ a bit in each shot. And another problem is that I don’t know how to use an image plane in Zbrush, but maybe it’s even better, it would be too easy to just put an image and copy all the curves to your model.
nerveink Thanks!
another thing i forgot to mention… it looks like you are sculpting in orthographic view. when using photos, you are using refs that have a focal length while ortho views have no focal length. you should compare to your refs with a focal length that is somewhat similar. hit P to go into perspective view. depending on the size of your model (full body, bust, tank) on the canvas, you will see different looks. I believe that the default is set to 70? i think the focal length setting is in the draw menu? play around with this setting to match something comparable to your refs and i think you’ll really be able to pick up the differences even easier.
Hello everyone, I’ve just made this goblin, need some critics.

ok i think u need to look at the silouete of ur character and youll see the proportions are off, you should be able to see personality and individuality with each character. the muscles are too pronounced, even more than the incredible hulk, it looks like uve skinned him, no feel of skin or tention around stress areas i.e knees, elbows, weist, neck etc. hope this helps
GE_GRAZE thanks a lot! I’ve made some corrections, changed proportions a bit and made the muscles less pronounced, am i moving the right way?

u model how i used to, i wanted everything muscley and made it 2 pronounced everytime, i just cudnt do subtle, but i looked at alot of muscley models and they are not as ripped as i thought, look at other models.
this pic looks awsome, very ripped, but look closely, yes hes got alot of muscles popping but not every single 1, get reference for what your doing, lots of it. i advise you to find a concept you like, get some extra reference for it and begin that, but instead of getin your model in zb and subd 5 times b4 u sculpt you should work at every subd its like a tick list, subd 1-3 silouete and muscle mass, once youve done that move on to the next subd and just excentuate what youve already got. honestly mate get refernce for everything you do it helps a heap. good luck hope it helps
A small update of my goblin. Made his face a bit more evil.

hey man much better the muscles look like they have some flesh on, i stil think alot of the muscls shape are weird but stil much better, go on pixologic and look at the turntable gallery some of the models muscles look awesome and you got all the angles you need sometimes its hard to get the right shape from just 1 angle. heres a quick paintover i did just to point owt that some of the muscles need shifting, his feet are too small, stomach should face out a little more, his face looks weird tho, i see youve tried to make it more evil but uve made the same mistake alot of peeps do and just model the brow line and cheek bones to the point they look like micheal jackson went goblin., and uve used the ref of that goblin way too much it practically isnt your own anymore u mite aswel of just copied his. be more subtle heres some images that shows this…can you see how they all look scary and powerful but akuma kinda looks bit cartoonish, way too owta proportion, maybe even silly looking. to make something scary it isnt how u model the brows, u can make anything scary with lighting, facail expression etc. BE MORE SUBTLE
i can be harsh but i hate bull****tin peeps, u wna learn then im here to give u constructive advise. now get your goblin and turn the flat shaded materail on, remeber your model has to be recognisable with just his proportions
