How you guys doing non symetrical meshes ?

Hello everyone ! I just have symmetry issue in Zbrush . When i’m import non symetrical mesh from Maya , symmetry in Zbrush dosen’t work right . Actually there only one arm a little bit different than the other , but symmetry dosen’t work even on identicaly parts . I noticed that the center pivot is little bit on the side from center , i can drag it to the center in the preview window and then symmetry is working normally . But if so , do i need to drag it each time im working with non symetrical object ? On each subtool ? How you guys doing that ? And one more thing , if i creating mesh from Zspheres , even if it non symetrical , the symmetry still working properly on identical parts .

You can try activating Transform>Use Poseable Symmetry. ZBrush will then try to analyze the mesh to determine which points are topologically symmetrical. If it succeeds, symmetry will then work as normal.

One thing that might help is to first hide a section of the mesh that you know to be symmetrical and then press the S.Pivot button. This sets the model’s symmetry center to be its geometrical center, which can help ZBrush out. When you’re done you can press C.Pivot to return to the original pivot point.
