The specimen is known to be the first dinosaur ever that was brought to the Netherlands in the 1960s. Around 60% of the skull is available in fossilized bones, the other 40% had to be remodeled using digital means and the latest research on the Triceratops Prorsus specimen. After sessions of researching and meetings with experts in the field of Paleontology, Javid Jooshesh learned the anatomy of the Triceratops skull and via comparison to other complete references, he was able to reconstruct the missing elements of the skull in ZBrush. The powerful software not only allowed to generate the form as accurate as possible, but also to regenerate the texture of the bones such as foramen and vain channels over the horns and the frill of the animal using the bone references. This 3D model was intended to be 3d printed to puzzle back all the skull for the museum showcase in Science Centre Delft, in the Netherlands.
