Hey…
As the title says… I would like to retopo a mesh , but I would like to use an already existing mesh as a base as it has about 75% the same topology. is this possible?.. I feel that it is … and that it’s rather simple… but the solution is escaping me at this minute. OD’d on Zbrush lately.
A bit more detail…
I modelled a piece of armour by Masking and extracting from a human base mesh. I then retopo’d this and creased edges / subdivided etc. Then i decided I wanted to cut sections out of the mesh… so I dynameshed it at high rez then used IMM primitives to cut chunks out of the armour. To finish I used Zremesher with Keep Groups on etc… then creased polygroups. the result is fine at high resolution, but the low res is still too high poly for my liking. I’d really like as simple as possible low poly as possible on the lowest sub D… which I can’t get with Zremesher. So what I’m wanting to do Is take the first retopo I did and modify that to now include cut out chunks that were added later…
does that make sense?
Any help would be really appreciated… and as I said… I’m sure this is really simple and I’m suffering from temporary memory loss.
cheers
