How to tweak MIDI files?

HI all!

I am doing some work on a free game project…

I have found some nice public domain MIDI files, but the instruments they have chosen are Obnoxious as heck… the piano sounds like someones Celphone ringer beltone.

Anyways, I want to see how it would sound on a bass guitar, or a trumpet… can anyone please tell me how to change instruments in a MIDI file?

BTW the game will be a remake of the 1984 classic marble madness as far as the game controls are concerned… the rest will be totaly new :slight_smile:

I used your Google suggestion, and found Jazz :

Very easy to change the instruments…

plus, I was able to see embeded copyright information in 2 of my files :confused:

the Jazz software, is for OSX, and Linux too 8)
